1. What This Website Is

This is an independently operated private reference site, not a government service. It neither keeps official criminal records nor retrieves records, performs official background checks, or files documents on a visitor's behalf.

The site directs readers to custodians of Anson County criminal records, including the Anson County Sheriff's Office, the North Carolina courts, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) Criminal Information and Identification Section, and the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. Public access remains subject to the North Carolina Public Records Law, Chapter 132, and other restrictions. The site may also connect readers to third-party research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

As a condition of access, you agree not to:

• Use bots, scrapers, or other automated means against the site's pages
• Use information found here to threaten, stalk, or harass any person
• Attempt to enter systems or obtain access without authorization
• Rely on site content for hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
• Interfere with site operation or prevent others from using it
• Violate any applicable federal, North Carolina, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use information obtained here or through a linked tool to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct may also be criminal. This restriction is especially important for data from the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. The registry's acceptable-use policy warns that using its information to commit crimes, including stalking, threats, intimidation, or harassment, may be prosecuted under North Carolina law. Registry information is provided for public protection and community awareness, not vigilantism, employment blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not prepare credit reports, consumer reports, or background checks. Our advertising partners likewise do not provide tools here for evaluating applicants, setting insurance rates, reviewing rental applications, or deciding creditworthiness. You must not use information from this site or a linked tool to:

• Assess creditworthiness or establish an insurance premium
• Evaluate a renter or other housing applicant
• Make a hiring or termination decision
• Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
• Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA

When a background check is needed for one of those purposes, obtain the proper official check through an authorized North Carolina channel or use a screening provider that complies with the FCRA. The SBI does not offer the general public a name-search portal, and its fingerprint-based Right to Review process is for a person reviewing their own North Carolina record.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. It may describe how Anson County criminal records work, but it cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, or North Carolina expunction law affects a particular case. Seek advice from an attorney licensed in North Carolina for that analysis.

6. No Warranties
